Our Values & Traditions

OUR VALUES

Picture

Kindness

In both small ways and big, we emphasize how kindness should always be our first reaction: to be kind to others, to be kind to ourselves, and to be kind to the world around us.

Respect

Hand-in-hand with kindness comes respect. At Shalom Preschool, respect is at the forefront of everything we do. We model the importance of always respecting others—their property, their opinions, and their cultures, especially when they might be different to our own.

Community

Community is a foundation of Shalom Preschool. Recognizing that we are part of something greater. Appreciating that we are an integral part of a whole. And appreciating that each child and family is necessary to complete our school community.

Responsibility

It's one of our founding principles: to give a child responsibility is to empower them. Every child is encouraged to take on a responsibility in their classroom and environment. We also recognize the importance of allowing children to have a sense of responsibility over their learning, environment, and each other.

Joyful Learning

The formative years of early childhood education are the catalyst to the rest of a child’s life, both educationally and personally. At Shalom Preschool, learning is synonymous with discovery and growth, and is therefore done with joy—making it more impactful, more meaningful, and more resonant. Our goal is that each child should take with them a joy for learning when they move forward with their educational journey.

OUR TRADITIONS

As a Jewish school, we strive to instill a sense  pride and joy for the customs and values of Judaism in our students. Through hands-on learning experiences, holiday celebrations, giving charity daily, and celebrating weekly Pre-Shabbat celebrations, our hope is that our students take with them a strong moral compass, an attitude of kindness, respect for others, compassion, and appreciation for the world around them.

To further strengthen our community, we invite our parent body to share in their child's Judaic discovery by celebrating the Jewish values and traditions together with them. Shalom Preschool is excited to celebrate holidays and weekly Pre-Shabbat celebration with you!
